As Darius had reflux issues, he tends to regurgitated milk. We usually hold him in 45 degree position for 30mins after his feeding to prevent regurgitation. When he was 3 weeks old before he went to KK, he only surfaced as a kan cheong drinker. After KK incident, doctor suggested he might be having reflux, prescribed medication for him. Thereafter, he will throw out mouthful of milk. As he grows older, not sure if its bcos he had more strength or condition worsen, he merlions out the milk approx once a day. As older generation might suggest this is normal, but I don't think so leh... if its flowing I'm find with it but throwing out milk leh.. Moreover this reflux problem is giving him a lot of discomfort during and after feeding.
Recent 2 occasions after carrying him for almost one hour, he dozed off and I put him back to his cot. After a short while, he cries out, I went to him saw that his face is wet with regurgitated milk flowing out his mouth but almost getting into his nostrils and ear. I held him tight, comforting him and cleaning him up. In my heart, I was angry about myself not darius.. I feel lousy why I didn't hold him longer and create the chance of danger. Back in my mind I keep thinking, what if the milk gets in the nostril.. what if he didn't cry to alert us.. what ifs... really no idea how can I do a better job.. sigh.. reflux problem pls go away...
